Diamonds are a Girl's Best Friend

Who doesn't love Diamonds?! And rubies and emeralds -- and all the other important things in life? This sweater is so cute and in the lovely colours of baby pink and rose gold. This is a casual "weekend look" that I had thrown together with some Betsey Johnson sunglasses, a small black purse, and my favourite opal crystal Cherrypick earrings.

Kiss Nail Art Polishes

These nail art stripers have been my go-to tool for painting designs on my nails. They have super tiny, long brushes and are so easy to use!

The make of the soft, long bristles make straight lines or curvy lines glide right on. Keep a steady hand and you are on the right track!

Today on the blog I am featuring the polish stripers I use the most - which are black, silver, and white. They are sold in packages of three and can be found at your local Walmart.

To see all nail art I've created using these, check out photos here and here

Matte Black with Gloss Grid

Today I am sharing this matte black nail look that has a hand drawn windowpane design. The design is drawn on with a glossy black striper (a super thin brush) for contrast against the matte black. Super different and also a bit edgy!

Polishes Used:

Black // Sally Hansen
Matte Top Coat // Orly
Glossy Black Nail Striper // KISS

Dusty Rose Dress

Today I'm sharing this dusty rose coloured dress against this amazing baby blue wall I happened to find in Toronto. I am super excited to finally start styling some spring looks for the blog!

I matched a warm brown shade of matte liquid lipstick with this outfit and a cute floral blazer from one of my favourite online sites, Lulu's

At the time of this photo shoot, the sun was out and the weather was perfect - so I had these round Calico sunglasses to pop on as well. That same day just a few hours later, there was a snow storm!! Blair and I were very lucky to get these photos just in time.

WHAT I WORE:

Dress // Forever 21
Blazer // Lulu's
Shoes // H&M
Sunglasses // Calico
Lipstick Shade // Ruffle Trim by NYX (Liquid Lingerie)

My All-Time Favourite Eyeliner

This is my FAVOURITE eyeliner! There is nothing else I would rather use to create my everyday winged liner. Keep reading to find out why!

The Stila "stay all day" liquid eyeliner is the only liner I've ever used and actually relied on to stay put all day. I have tried many before, but they just don't do the job the way that Stila does it. This black waterproof felt-tipped liner is the best beauty tool you can use for the ultimate cat eye. It also is super easy to use.

This is the swatch of the liner. In one gentle stroke, you can see how pigmented it is.

The felt tip on the pen is very flexible and bends just enough when creating your wing. It is easily manipulated, and does not transfer too much product or drip if too much pressure happens to be added. I am no liner expert, but I do have to say I love creating my wings with this eyeliner specifically!

Tips for perfecting your winged liner:

♡ Start by drawing a line with a felt-tipped liquid liner along your upper lash line. Start in the centre of your eyelid, and draw a line to the outer corner of your eyelid. You can extend the line as close to your inner corner as you would like as well. Stay as close to your lash line as possible.

♡ Next, extend the line up and out of your outer corner, as if you are bending the line to create your cat eye. The line will extend diagonally up and out.

♡ Then, connect the bended line you just created with a smaller bend, just above.

♡ You now have an empty bended triangle at the outer corner of your eye. Fill in the space with your felt tipped liquid liner, and your cat eye is complete.

My skin is normally very oily, and so are my eyelids throughout the day. Any other liners I have tried are not smudge-proof, and end up transferring above my eyelid throughout the day. And that is not a good look!

This is the only liner to date that I have been able to trust for everyday use! Especially once you have created an admirable wing, you want it to be able to last throughout your busy day!

You can purchase this eyeliner at Sephora or Shoppers Drug Mart.
