MAK Style 1 Year Blogiversary

I can't believe it's already been ONE YEAR since I launched MAK Style! So many things have happened, changed, and I am so thankful for all of the opportunities and lessons I have learned along the way.

In celebration of my one year blogiversary, I am going to be sharing a few things I have learned since moving to and living in the city, going to school for fashion marketing, and working on this website of mine. This past year has taught me so many things - both personally and in the blogging world!

1. Don't be afraid to be yourself! Work that tulle skirt. Wear glitter in your hair. Be yourself, wear what you want, and do what you love! I have learned not to take other people's opinions so personally. 2. Meet people! Making connections and lasting relationships is very important in life, and also in the industry I am in. Putting myself out there isn't always easy, but I've been able to push myself to do it more since after moving to the city! 3. Take on as many opportunities as possible. When you see the opportunity, or are asked to do or be apart of something, go for it! I always am on the look-out for a new brand to work with, a fellow fashion blogger to collaborate with, or even things like internships! Don't be afraid to go for it - no regrets!

4. I am independent, and I can do things on my own! I can live by myself, take care of myself, and rely on myself knowing that everything will be alright and I can do it alone. 5. Share your content like crazy. When it comes to blogging, you've got to utilize every social media you can. Instagram. Pinterest. Twitter. YouTube. Even ask friends and family to share your posts and photos! 6. Take breaks. Take time for yourself and relax once and a while! It's so easy to get stressed out when I have a lot going on, but taking time for myself once and a while is always a good idea. I like to watch shows on Netflix, have a bubble bath, or go for a swim! 7. Stay organized. I am a pretty organized person as is, but I have found it even more important this year to keep things together, make daily to-do lists, and make sure that every assignment, blog post, video, etc is done on time! 8. Its more than okay to plan ahead! I am a HUGE planner. From my Instagram feed and blog posts, to when and how long I will work on specific assignments for school. I keep everything logged in my phone and sometimes I will write it down as well. Knowing that things are planned ahead puts some of the pressure off and I can mentally deal with life a little easier knowing that I have a plan/schedule to go off of.

9. Go to things when you get invited. Events are a great way to meet people, get seen and get your name out there. I have been lucky enough to be invited to some pretty amazing fashion/beauty events here in Toronto and they are a lot of fun and I've been able to meet some pretty cool individuals. It beats staying home and sitting on the couch for sure! 10. Never stop working towards your dreams! Believe that you can, and you will. You are your only limit and your hard work WILL pay off at some point. I just have to keep all of my goals in mind, and keep working towards what I want out of my life.
