Sephora Haul & Review (Hair Care, Cosmetics + Skin)

I recently received a Sephora gift card, and I purchased a few items I’ve been dying to try! I got these items back in January, so I’ve had a few weeks to put them to the test and today I’ll be sharing my thoughts...

Amika “Reset” Exfoliating Jelly Shampoo

This product caught my eye when I read about it on @rae.skinhealth‘s IG page. You can view her original post here. I love the packaging (duh) but I also was intrigued by the idea of exfoliating my scalp. I have a tricky situation with my hair (mostly my scalp) in that it gets oily easily, but I also deal with flakiness, itchiness and dryness. I usually wash my hair every other day (especially since being in quarantine), but the roots of my hair and so greasy by day 2. So much build-up!

I was intrigued by one of its main ingredients - pink clay. This product claims to deep clean, purify, rebalance, and soothe sensitive, itchy, or oily scalps.

This shampoo is a jelly consistency, but is gritty as it does have an exfoliating element. I’ve been using it once a week and I love it! It gives my scalp a really fresh feeling after each use. I can’t say the feeling “lasts” more than a few days and I still feel the need to do my regular wash every other day. I’d say the main reason why I keep using it is because it feels really good on my scalp and I enjoy the experience! I haven’t noticed any “long-term” results yet, but I’ve only been using it for a month now. Would I repurchase? Unsure at the moment. I’ll let you know if I change my mind! I will also have to compare photos of myself from before.

The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% Zinc 1%

Believe it or not, this was my first time trying products from The Ordinary. I love this serum. I feel like it helps my acne and it’s not drying! The price is also amazing, which is something Deciem products are definitely known for. This one is only $5.90 for 30ml.

The Ordinary Squalene Cleanser

I honestly had high hopes for this oil-based cleanser, and I wasn’t too impressed. I love how it takes makeup off, but when it comes down to feeling cleansed or helping my oily/acne-prone skin, I think I still prefer my Banila Co. Clean In Zero cleansing balm to remove makeup and I follow up with my regular gel or foam cleanser. My faves are Purify and Refresh from Three Ships Beauty!

Fenty Beauty Gloss

Best. Gloss. Ever. I love how shimmery it is. It’s the perfect neutral pink gloss and it also smells/tastes good. I got the shade "Fu$$y - shimmering pink".

Kat Von D Tattoo Eyeliner

This is a staple in my makeup drawer. Love and swear by this waterproof liquid liner! I always get the black one. I don’t use eyeliner all the time (especially not right now in quarantine), but this is one of my favourites in my collection, and will continue to repurchase it.
