The Best Thrift Stores in Toronto for Pink-Loving Shoppers & Fashion-Obsessed Girlies on a Budget

Thrifting is FUN and I don't know why I didn't get into it more sooner.

I've gone thrift shopping a few times over the last couple of years and fell in love with it. Every time I go out, it's like a treasure hunt and you never know what you are going to find. I somehow always end up scoring super cute pieces - and at a really good price too. (This vintage Levi's oversized black denim jacket that I'm wearing in today's post was thrifted for under $40CAD!).

I live downtown Toronto, so the best place for me to find some good thrifted items in usually in Kensington Market. It can be a little overpriced and it can be a little sketchy - but sometimes the weirder looking places are where I've found the best pieces!

Here are some spots in Kensington you should definitely check out:

Shoneys Clothing - 222 Augusta Ave

I've found amazing things here for $5 and $10. I got a silky pink robe, a pair of amazing satin leopard pants, a satin pink cami and my friend Neg always scores amazing things here as well. This one is a little crowded / messy but honestly one of the best!

Exile - 60 Kensington Ave

This one is a fave for vintage pieces! They have lots of selection all the way to the back of the store. Prom dresses, casual wear, everything! I found the sweetest little pink wide-leg pants there before and there were so many other things I wish I could have snagged as well (either too pricey or not my size).

Vintage Depot - 70 Kensington Ave

This shop is great! It has lots of on-trend "retro" kind of pieces that I'd say are mostly second-hand. I bought my 90's wind breaker there along with an adorable Ralph Lauren pink polo too.

Then, of course, there is Value Village. I've had the best luck at Value Village outside of Toronto. To be specific, there is one Value Village in Whitby that I had some pretty good success with.

I scored the cutest yellow tee, a fluffy pink sweater with a little embroidered flamingo and even a light pink / dusty rose trench coat. Each item was under $30CAD, so I thought that was also amazing.

Another one outside of Toronto would be in my hometown (Cobourg) there is a cute little vintage shop called The Little Underground. I found my pink Elle Woods inspired skirt suit there as well as this Levi's jacket

I also have to add that I love Plato's Closet - specifically the Kissimmee Florida location! I always find so many things there for $10 - $30 each that I still wear today such as this pink and white top + shorts set, these black drawstring pants and these black SAKS leather ones too.

Thrift shopping is not only great for your wallet and need for on-trend vintage finds, it's also great for the environment. Making sustainable choices like shopping second hand goes a long way in helping the earth and not getting entirely sucked into the world of fast fashion. Have you seen the movie The True Cost before?

Would you want to try thrift shopping more often? What have been your greatest second-hand finds? Let me know in the comments!
