MAK Style 1 Year Blogiversary

I can't believe it's already been ONE YEAR since I launched MAK Style! So many things have happened, changed, and I am so thankful for all of the opportunities and lessons I have learned along the way.

{Take Me to Chanel} Leopard Print + Red Lip

This outfit is a super bold look that I am obsessed with.

This faux fur leopard coat is my new favourite - paired with a red (or pink) lip. I usually always go for a pink lipstick shade, but I decided to venture away from that - and go for a classic red.

A wardrobe-must this winter are definitely warm turtleneck sweaters. I am wearing this white one from Forever 21, and it has such a nice cozy, but sophisticated look to it.

Aside from the outfit, fashion school has been going great and I love living in the city. The photos in this post was taken in front of one of my favourite designer stores - Chanel, on Bloor St in Toronto. It was a great location to shoot at, but it took a couple of tries. The first time we set up to shoot, there was a giant truck sitting right in front of the white wall and the beautiful Chanel logo. By the second time we went (same week), the truck was gone and we were able to get these photos! #bloggerstruggles

Pink Cocoon

This week has been crazy busy for me as I have had an assignment due in pretty much every class this week in school, and just started a new internship position on Monday!

In today's post I am going to be talking about one of my favourite coats for fall! I am obsessed with pastels - and this pastel pink coat right here had my name written all over it. It is probably my most frequently worn coat that I own, and I can always find great outfits to wear with it. I either wear a more neutral outfit (like this one that I have on), or even something a bit more risky, to make a statement.

The pieces I paired this coat with was a plain white turtleneck tank top, some black jeans, my Valentino inspired studded nude heels, and some gold accessories. My lipstick shade is a deep plum/purple and I think it adds a touch of sophistication and boldness to the look.

F A U X F U R

Today's outfit is all about faux fur! I paired this vest with a black turtle neck tank top, black pants, a black belt, some Chanel sunglasses, my usual black Celine inspired bag, and some black ankle booties.

This pink ombré vest is completely fake, and no animals were used in the making of this garment! I am proud to say I have never bought anything with real fur. It is so unnecessary to harm animals for clothing!

Aside from the outfit details - it has been a while since I've given any sort of update on my new life in the city. It's been great here and I love the Fashion Marketing program I am taking. I am learning so much and meeting so many great people! For more insight on my experiences in College and living in Toronto, follow my Instagram @mikaylakuehn - or - add me on Snapchat @mikayla_k17.

WMCFW Outfit Look

Toronto Fashion Week was last week, and I had decided to play up my look for some street style shots and head down to David Pecaut Square.

This outfit was a chic, yet feminine look. I wore a basic black knit turtleneck sweater, and put on this amazing and flowy pink/purple midi skirt to add a girly touch. I also wore these little black booties to add some edgy-ness and complete the look.

It was fun to look at all the street style and incredible fashion sense of other individuals at Fashion Week, too! If you missed my previous post about it, check it out here.

Even though I didn't attend any of the shows, it was still fun to hang out at David Pecaut Square, get some blog photos, and also get my photo taken by other photographers! See the photos that were captured of me and others by searching the hashtag #WMCFW on Instagram.

Black + Black + Pink

This post was obviously shot before I moved to Toronto, but I still wanted to be able to share this look and touch a bit on how my first week of classes at Toronto Film School are going!

For this outfit, I wore a short sleeve black shirt with a high collar. I added to the black theme by wearing these black skinny jeans, my black Celine inspired bag, a black felt hat, and of course, my black ankle booties. To add a pop of colour, I applied a bright pink lipstick in the shade Schiap, by Nars. I added a pair of sunglasses to also make this outfit look more high fashion. The completed look is simple to pull off, but has a very edgy vibe.

On a side note, this week has been my first week of classes at fashion school! I am enjoying them very much and am already excited about some of the upcoming projects I have been assigned, and now working on.
