Pastel Vibes: Collab with Blair Alex

I am super excited to share this collab post with you guys! I had the chance to dress up in Pantone's colours of the year - Rose Quartz and Serenity - with my fashion school bestie, Blair (of Couture in Chains.) Her and I wore our favourite pastel coats and matching (opposite) lip colours in this styled outfit post.

Blair wore her pastel blue coat with a pale pink sweater underneath. She paired that with these amazing patchwork denim pants from Zara! She is also rocking her signature rings that she wears daily, a black bag, and some cool studded booties. Her pink lip adds the perfect touch to this ensemble and is a nod to the Pantone colour (and my coat), Rose Quartz

Aren't those snacks on her pants so cute?!

I wore my favourite pink pastel coat, an off-white turtleneck sweater, some plain blue jeans, and a bright blue lip. I also added in this pink grapefruit cross body bag to add a pop of colour and playfulness to the look. As if the blue lip didn't already make it exciting!

My nails match my bag!

It was great to be able to finally collaborate with Blair and we hope to do it again soon! In the meantime, check out her post about this collab, too! You can read that here

3 Hairstyles for Short to Medium Length Hair

I cut off all of my hair - super short - before moving to Toronto (in October). It's just starting to grow back out now! I've decided that I miss my long hair and I miss doing fun things to it like fish tail braids, long wavy curls, etc. They say you want what you don't have!

Today I'm going to show you how to do three different hairstyles for "awkward length hair".

Hair Style #1

The Top Knot

I do this hair style all the time! It's perfect for those days where you just want to throw your hair up super quickly and out of your face. This hairstyle can look super chic and edgy - or can be worn dressed down with a casual outfit as well. It's a lot easier than gathering all of your hair into a huge bun.

All you have to do is section your hair off into a half up-half down hairstyle, and then wrap that top section of your hair and bobby pin it -like a normal bun. It's just a baby hun instead! So cute!

Hair Style #2

Effortless Wavy/Curls

When I say effortless - I really mean effortless
No heat required!

I love this style for dressier looks and it is my go-to hair style because it's so fool-proof and I'm able to wear my super girly looks with it. It's okay to cheat on your curling iron every once and a while.

All I do is section my head of damp hair into two parts (make a part at the back of your head and bring two sections forward). Then, I literally "wrap" the strands into each other, adding in pieces as I go along (like a french braid.) I then "wrap" the hair on the other side, and elastic them together to stay in place. I sleep on this, and then in the morning I take it all out, toss my fingers through it and add some hairspray!

I also usually pin one side back for a more completed feel. (See photo below.)

Hair Style #3

Straight Hair with side french braid

This style is super simple but very cute because of the side braid detail!

I use my favourite CHI flat iron to straighten through all layers of my hair, and then I section off about three fingers wide of hair from the front of my face. I then begin at the roots of that section and french braid it all the way to the bottom of the strands, adding in small pieces as I go. I tie it off with a clear elastic, and bobby pin it to the side of my head. I then have a competed mini braid!

Thanks for reading today and if you try any of these out, let me know in the comments below or share your photos with me on social media.

Wandering Queen West

Its always fun to head down to Queen West for some shopping on a nice day. It's the perfect way to spend some of my weekends in Toronto! They have lots of cool little stores and boutiques as well as NYX Cosmetics, Zara, and more.

For this super casual spring look, I wore a Disney inspired crop top, some distressed "boyfriend" jeans and a white pair of converse. I had my favourite doodled Ban.do tumbler with me as well as my pink leather backpack to carry all my items for the day!

WHAT I WORE:

Crop Top + Denim // Forever 21
Converse // Boathouse
Sunglasses // Betsey Johnson
Lipstick Shade // Melted Frosting by Too Faced
Watch // Michael Kors
Smoothie Tumbler // Bando

A Look Inside my Makeup Drawer

Today on the blog I am sharing a look at my makeup table and how I like to organize my desk/drawer! I will be listing all of my favourite brands and products, how I organize the space, and also some decorating tips for this favourite little spot of mine in my cozy Toronto apartment.

Ever since I moved to the city into my own apartment, this little makeup table space has been my absolute favourite spot to decorate and also spend time at. I sit here every morning to do my makeup and hair before school!

Inside these drawers you will find brands like...

Too Faced
Benefit
Colour Pop
Urban Decay
NYX Cosmetics
L'Oreal
Maybeline
Stila
Cover Girl
Clinique
Juicy Couture
Chloe

My favourite recurring brand would have to be Too Faced!

My makeup desk chair is actually hand painted! It was part of an art project in high school.

Decorating tips for my makeup desk...

- Keep it clean, yet functional
- Use two or three focal decorating pieces (i.e. pink peonies in glass dish, gold pineapple)
- Have all "everyday" makeup tools and brushes easily accessible  (i.e. glass cylinder dish that holds all main makeup brushes)
- Keep everyday products at the front of the drawer for easy access
- Use organizers such as an acrylic lipstick holder or Q-tip dispensor
- Put cute makeup bags out on display (i.e. my white Dior cosmetics pouch)

How I organize my makeup drawer...

I like to organize things by category. For example, all of my boxes of makeup / palettes are over on the left side. This includes my contour palette, eye shadow palettes, and eye brow kit. I then like to have the same brand of lip products of perfumes grouped together as well. Products that I don't use as often are put towards the back (not photographed), and are brought out when I feel like switching things up in my makeup routine!

I hope that you enjoyed reading today - thanks for stopping by!
