It's Been A Minute: 3 Years of MAK Style

This is the post where I'm supposed to tell you all the lessons I've learned since blogging and all the reasons why I love it, what it has done for me, etc.

I don't want to bore you with all of my cliché reasons (blogging has seriously been one of the best things for me and a great creative outlet blah blah blah...) but instead I wanted to keep it short and sweet.

I've been blogging for longer than 3 years but I remember starting MAK Style on Sept 1 2015, just before I moved downtown Toronto to start my journey to fashion school and adulting.

Throughout the the 3 years of navigating school, part-time jobs, graduating and finding a full-time job, friends, dating and freelance work - blogging has been something that always stayed constant.

I somehow always find the time for it because I truly love doing it. I love making it a weekend thing where I shoot and create content and evenings editing and writing. I am always finding new places to visit in the city, eat at and take pictures of. I never want to stop creating content.

Also having the opportunity to work with local brands (and some bigger brands too) has been pretty amazing. I don't make a lot of money with my blog, but I do it because I've found a love for keeping up with the community I've built and helping other young girls with their own blogging, taking a similar program in school as me or wanting to have a job in social media like me one day.

I love how MAK Style has allowed me to connect with so many people I never would have met otherwise. Whether I just talk to them on Instagram or we actually had the opportunity to meet in person - I'm so thankful for the network that I have surrounding me.

Even on the days when things are crazy and I hear things like "would you consider quitting the blog?" "maybe you should take a break".

I always shut this down. I don't want to stop anytime soon, so I won't! I'm dedicated and I'd say I'm a very disciplined individual. I know I shouldn't stay up editing photos when I should be sleeping and I shouldn't be worrying about answering emails instead of watching Netflix as soon as I get home from my 9-5 job, but blogging excites me and I don't want to give up this amazing platform that I've built so far. Not yet that is.

Here's to 3 years and hopefully many more!

Thanks for reading today!
